making the ending

I just finished the book (now maybe I will go to bed earlier. Ha.)! I am going to ruin it right now for anyone that hasn't read it, but I really like 'happy endings'! I remember when I read 'Cold Mountain' years ago. I was so mad about the ending! After all the drear and sadness - the ending, I thought, should somehow redeem one from having to endure reading all of that. . . to no avail. . . since of course, it is based on real events, it's author was not inclined to take great liberties with a 'happy ending.' Tonight, I am delighted that author, Judith Koll Healey, was inclined otherwise!!

Analyzing books, works of art, people, past events, etc., is interminable and gives me a headache (why do I do it?). - me
