p.f. changs

We went out to eat with 4 other families that are in the process on an adoption from China (we call our little group 'china mom's'; a guy at work thought that was offensive but I'm not sure why!? Maybe he was just trying to annoy me - he's very good at that).

Ginger and Jeff (their referral should be coming soon!) and Brant and Angela at one end of the table. I'm convinced that Angela's little girl will be the 'best dressed' in the group.

Tonight I met Shauna's husband, Dan. He travels to China every year for his work - several different cities. That was interesting to hear about. I thought Shauna was brave to ask if she could try some tofu that I ordered (which I like very much but those who've never eaten it don't usually like it - and some people who have eaten it still hate it!). She did not like it (at all) though. I, on the other hand, did not ask to try whatever she was eating.

'There's a long line.' Julie's answer to the weary question, 'Why does it take so long [to adopt from China]?' I love that.

Yesterday was eight months months since our dossier log-in-date. I told another friend that we'd been waiting 6 months earlier in the day as I (really) had stopped counting since 'the wait' keeps getting longer.

In the meantime (tonight), we ate the 'Great Wall of Chocolate'.

We like PF Chang's too, none nearby unfortunately anymore. In Maryland we had 3 w/in 45 minutes! Here, it's just about 2 hours to one!

Congrats on getting out in public 2 times in one month!!!

I went out twice in one week (pat on the back?)!! I actually do enjoy being social but a little goes a very long ways with me. You know those myers-briggs test things? Well my strongest characteristic is introversion. I can see this as it takes effort for me to be really social (where as some people find socializing completely invigorating!).

Yes, I went to a boarding academy (highschool)for 4 years in South Texas. We had a very small graduating class but we became good friends. Ironically (in spite of my introversion), I loved living in the dorm in highschool!!
