When we started our adoption process, the Vietnam adoption process was not yet open again. My friend is expecting the referral of a new baby from Vietnam anytime now. . . (her third from Vietnam and the second since we began our adoption from China)! She has been an inspiration for us along this path. She asked if I would like to travel to Vietnam with her to get her baby (since we may not get our referral this year). I want to go with her! I would love it!!! I will have to check into some logistic kinds of things with that related to my work and time off though. I don't think I would be able to contain my excitement if all that worked out.

How exciting would that be?? Only second to us getting our referral and traveling to China. . . .

That would be a fantastic trip. But I so want for you to be making that trip for your own baby.

I know, long time no comment. I have no excuse. I can tell you I've read every post since the last time I commented and loved them all.

I just get so frustrated when I come here and think how it sucks that you are not yet in China. I always thought (and of course you likely did too) that you would long since be home and we would be seeing our referral right about now.

if you can go to vietnam and want to, I think this is awesome. What a gift from your friend to allow you to come along.

So few people invited on adoption journeys realize what a special gift this is... like being invited into the delivery room.

kris - I think so!

wendy - I hope so too! This blog will certainly know, if I do!

amy - absolutely. :-)

cs - China would be my first choice - we've been waiting a lifetime! I'm very excited for Paula though.

cj - those 'if's' - that's what I hope to manuever...

lisa - my friend! I check on you too, for any new news. I thought I'd be going by now too - so all that part is frustrating, finally, for me. . . but I'm OK for now with these other diversions and exciting things going on. I will be so excited if this can work out, to go with Paula... (talk about living vicariously, though).

I know, I meant I want the trip to be you guys going to China. Isn't it funny how much you can start to wish something good for someone you've not actually met in person?

cs- thank-you! It would be cool for her to meet you when she comes home (and me too - even though I'm not exactly 'ms. socialite').
