Happy Chinese New Year!
(another reason to have a party!)

We had snow today! It started before we left for church and continued while we were there. We didn't get much 'accumulation' but there was a little (in the shade). We have some crazy weather here for sure.

CNY, also known as the Spring Festival. . .

REACHING FOR SPRING

Even in winter I have visions of Spring
Flowers in bloom and birds on the wing.
I find myself looking for signs of new growth,
under the leaves, the mulch or both.
I remember the colors and scents of last year,
when bulbs already planted begin to appear.
Not even thinking of the hard work and sweat,
it's the beauty of flowers that I can't forget.
I walk each morning down my garden path,
watching the birds as they take a bath.
Touching a bloom that has opened it's face,
to be admired, but not in haste.
I love my garden, the flowers, the birds,
more than I could ever put into words.
